London for Thanksgiving
Hey guys, sorry I’ve been M.I.A for a bit. As you may know I was just in London last week for Thanksgiving.
Anyone who knows me know that I LOVE LONDON, I mean seriously who doesn’t?! London is such a vibrant and culture-filled city. From fashion, food, music, and art London has a special something for everyone.
As per usual, I stayed at the Four Seasons Park Lane which is such a beautiful hotel with amazing service. It is by far my favorite hotel in London, and yes I may be a little biased as I’ve been staying there since I was born!
As you know, I’m such a foodie and London is a food lovers paradise. Over the course of the week we dined at serval restaurants and cafes: Blacklock, Amaranto, Frescobaldi, Dominique Angel Bakery, 34 Mayfair, Elan Cafe, and Pan Chai Harrods. Blacklock is basement restaurant and bar in SoHo that specializes in for meat chops and fancy cocktails. It was such an amazing value for money restaurant and is definitely a must when you go to London. Amaranto is the restaurant in the Four Seasons, we ate a lovely Thanksgiving dinner there. It is so chic and it has consistently good service and food. Every time I am in London I make a point to stop by Frescobaldi, it is truly one of the best Italian meals anyone could ever have. Not only are the ambiance and decor stunning, but you truly feel like you have escaped to Sardinia for the meal. The Dominique Ansel Bakery in Chelsea has some of the most intricate and extraordinary desserts I have ever seen, whether it is the chocolate chip cookie shots or the blooming marshmallow hot chocolate, the DA bakery very impressive. Elan is a new cafe located next to the Dorchester in Mayfair. It is a perfectly instagram worthy place for a quick tea break or a late lunch. As you may already know, I am obsessed with the Harrods food hall, especially the amazing Japanese restaurant, Pan Chai. Their fried rice is a piece of art, it literally comes in a seashell served with amazing Asian spices and flavors from the Far East. Make sure to check out all these foodie places next time you are in London!
London is considered one of the fashion capitols of the world and rightfully so. Whether you are meandering Bond Street or looking in awe at the latest fashions in the windows of Harrods, London has fashions that are to die for. I love shopping at Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Selfridges, Dover Street Market, Bond Street, Oxford Circus, and many more! The department stores in London are stunning, each one out-does the next, from the marvelous window to the collections available each store has a unique display of the latest and hottest goods straight off the runways. Christmas time in London is magical, especially with all the lights displayed all around the city, but Harrods stole the show with their stunning Dolce & Gabbana window displays and their Christmas decorations. Inside Harrods, there is a D&G Market for the holidays, it is so cute and is done up like an Italian Christmas market. London is also great for street style shopping, especially at the Dover Street Market Store in St. James’. There’s every streetwear brand imaginable from Commes Des Garçon to Supreme to Adidas and even a lovely selection of Gucci and Celine.
As for activities in London, there are endless options. One of my favorite things to do is to take a river cruise on the Thames from the London Eye to the Tower of London. I also love going for walks in Mayfair from Hyde Park all the way to Piccadilly and through Green Park. The magical Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park was open when I was there last week. The Winter Wonderland is great family fun for all ages with endless rides, fair games, Christmas markets, food stages, bars, etc. I always see a West End show when I’m in town, this time I saw School of Rock which was to my surprise a very comical and energetic show.
All in all, this trip was truly amazing and London never ceases to amaze me with its fantastic city life!
